FREQUENCY was founded by Vivian Rosenthal, Meg Poe M.D. and Gio Israel. We are a group of people who feel called upon to create a space for individuals to come together and connect. To slow down and turn the gaze inward. To just be. To remember ourselves. We come from many different backgrounds - medicine, tech, art, music, architecture, community building - and we now find ourselves together in a singular mission: to spread love and joy, in the hope that it will allow each of us to tune ourselves to our own inner music, to become more of who we are, to be better listeners, and with that, help ourselves and others rise together.
Frequency is an exploration into consciousness, through collective healing. Frequency will offer immersive experiences with many of the great visionaries, healers, artists, musicians and wisdom teachers on the planet. The experiences help shift participants’ energies and educate through the body to create a curriculum for the spirit. Each journey will invite participants to access a more embodied and connected state of being, letting go of the anxiety, stress and overwhelm of modern life. Artistic, aesthetic and spiritual traditions will provide pathways to access a grounding connectivity with ourselves and each other through inquiries into what it means to be alive today.
Vivian Rosenthal, Co-Founder, is a serial entrepreneur, visual futurist and genre bending creative director.
She received a B.A. from Brown University and a Masters in Architecture from Columbia University. She is a certified Kundalini Yoga instructor and Vedic meditator.
Vivian explored her early interest in 3D animation, VR and the psychology of space in the design studio Tronic that she co-founded with Columbia classmate Jesse Seppi. It is in these early days that Vivian articulated her lifelong question: how do humans and technology co-exist in an ever increasingly digital world?
An obsession with AR and AI fueled Vivian’s creation of Snaps, a VC backed tech startup that ushered in a new communication platform melding AI, AR, text and visuals. The Snaps platform has powered over a billion engagements to date.
Vivian joined Google as the Founder in Residence of 30 Weeks, Google's design led incubator, where she helped to create the program to transform designers into founders who are equipped with the entrepreneurial skills, knowledge and tech know-how to create social impact products and companies.
Vivian’s passion for food as medicine brought her together with Elizabeth Fisher and Rebecca Cross to co-found LAVVA, a VC backed plant based yogurt. LAVVA can now be found at Whole Foods across the country.
Most recently, as a recovering technophile, Vivian co-founded FREQUENCY, a company that creates immersive group healing experiences to explore consciousness.
Vivian was named one of Creativity Magazine’s top 50 global creatives of 2010 and has spoken at numerous conferences on the intersection of design and technology, including the CaT conference by F5, Ad Age, TEDx, Ad Tech, Dmexco, Financial Times, Advertising Week, Socialize West, Foresight and Trends and Stylus Innovation Forum. She has been a jury member for the Andy Awards, D&AD, One Show Interactive Awards, AICP Next Awards, and the Art Directors Club. She won the Microsoft Storytelling Award for the US in the brand category and was selected as one of the five women CEOs for the L’Oreal Next Awards, honoring women in technology.
Vivian has worked with brands such as GE, Samsung, Nike, Sony and Target.
Previously Vivian wrote a column in Forbes on AI, Cognitive Marketing and the future of data driven conversation. As part of the Digital Pioneer series, Vivian was featured on FWA. Vivian has also been featured in Fast Company and the Wall Street Journal.
Dr. Meg Poe, M.D., Co-Founder, is a psychiatrist and interpersonal psychoanalyst. She received her BA from Yale University, where she majored in English and first articulated her lifelong professional question: How do we each live, love, and work well? As a medical student she was awarded AOA, and completed her psychiatry residency training at Harvard University/Cambridge Health Alliance. She then did a fellowship in Public Psychiatry at Columbia University and is trained in psychoanalysis by the William Alanson White Institute. She is trained in Kundalini Yoga and sound therapy and practices daily meditation.
Dr. Poe has a private practice in the West Village, NYC. She helps people to feel most present and alive in their creative flow and inner life. She specializes in helping adults create more intimate, fulfilling relationships in their lives, with a particular interest in how we grow our capacities to love and to pay attention in order to create our individual and collective world. She is known for integrating her knowledge of yoga, meditation, sound, and the neuroplastic effects of technology into her therapy practice.
Dr. Poe created and teaches the first curricular course on Love at NYU for undergraduates, an interdisciplinary class drawing from film, poetry, philosophy, art, psychology, and neuroscience.
At NYU, Dr. Poe co-founded the NYU Public Psychiatry Fellowship, which transitions young doctors into leaders over the course of a year, and developed a pioneer program in self-care for resident physicians, the first of its kind, giving doctors the tools to care for themselves and to be living examples for their patients.
She has developed many courses across diverse settings and believes in bringing all of the gems from her field to the widest possible audiences. Since having three children (including twins) she saw the need for time design workshops, and is also writing/curating a collective autobiography on motherhood.
As the co-founder of FREQUENCY, Dr. Poe weaves together psychotherapy, neuroplasticity and sound therapy to create FREQUENCY’s unique therapeutic transformational experiences.
