POSITION OVERVIEW

Frequency is seeking a savvy, authentic, and passionate Director of Membership Sales to drive sales during our presale campaign and to create an exceptional experience for members of our NYC studio. The Director of Sales wears two main hats: growth of memberships and operation of the studio. It is critical to understand the initial focus  for this role is to oversee the presales effort and enjoy the excitement of the transition from Presale to Grand Opening.  Then, after Grand Opening, responsibilities include the overall day-to-day studio management, as well as primary responsibility for membership growth and sales. Compensation consists of a salary plus commission and bonus commensurate with experience.

  • You are comfortable making conversations with strangers and communicate in a clear, trustworthy and kind way

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

You will be responsible for all of the following:

  • Effectively develop sales, marketing and prospecting strategies to execute an expansive presale effort
  • Lead and manage membership sales and growth during our 8-12 week pre sale campaign
  • Drive sales of new members and membership sign ups at the studio
  • Oversee the NYC Studio in Chelsea, including setting up the studio for the teachers and welcoming members and helping them feel comfortable
  • Oversee the calendar and relationship with members of the studio
  • Lead, coach and manage a small team of dedicated sales-driving team members whom you will be responsible for recruiting and training

Financial Performance

  • Provide consistent update and result driven reporting on all marketing and presale endeavors
  • Consistently reach monthly revenue and sales goals for new members
  • Analyze financial reports, manage the studio budget and create strategic responses to findings that support the business
  • Manage teacher revenue report, update with substitutions, cancellations, etc.

Studio Sales & Marketing

  • Create and execute on the monthly marketing plan based on studio needs (new member acquisition, member activation, retention, loyalty, etc.)
  • Oversee marketing, social media and outreach strategies to drive membership sales for studios while under development (prior to opening/presale)
  • Manage volunteers, staff and consultants/contractors in promotions, including volunteers responsible for flyers & bulletin boards and Facebook posts
  • Develop a strong presence in the surrounding community, including the creation of strategic partnerships with other local businesses
  • Nurture strong community culture within the studio that is inviting to new members

Class Schedule

  • Create, manage, and maintain both the studio and MindBody calendar
  • Identify trends in attendance to optimize the schedule, ensure class format and schedule changes

Studio Operations

  • Oversee business reports on membership attendance, growth, retention while cultivating member relationships
  • Manage check-in of teachers and members; check-in for at least 4 classes per week
  • Manage maintenance issues, inventory, oversee cleaning; communicate as needed with cleaning service and any tech issues, etc.

Leadership

  • Manage the studio by example, consistently performing all tasks at the highest level
  • Conduct regular staff and teacher meetings and events; manage studio intern, cultivate an environment for learning, growth, and development
  • Onboard and train all team members, including teachers and studio staff and volunteers, consistent with job descriptions and schedule needs

Experience & Skills Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years experience in direct sales, sales leadership & sales success
  • Experience in developing a staff with enthusiasm and respect
  • Experience is conducting a presale campaign preferred - A Master at "breaking the ice"
  • Completes work independently, embraces change and adapts well to a fast-changing environment
  • Familiarity with a variety of software programs; MindBody experience preferred
  • Experience using different digital lead management solutions a plus (CRM/Text/MyEmma/etc.) preferred
  • Excellent communication and phone skills
  • Availability to work some nights and weekends is required (This is not a 40 hour work week)
  • Undergraduate degree
